GCSE student Liz wins CIFE award

Shiyoun (Liz) Kim has been awarded a CIFE award for outstanding contribution to college life at Lansdowne. Liz joined Lansdowne College’s two-year GCSE programme in September 2015. She rapidly demonstrated her outstanding academic ability and achieved A* grades for both GCSE Science and GCSE History in the summer of 2016.  She is expected to go on to achieve further A* grades in the summer 2017 GCSE examinations. A determined effort from Lansdowne’s basketball team

Easter 2017 saw the end of the season for Lansdowne College’s basketball team. Playing in an intermediate level league against teams that had been established for some time and were older and bigger, the boys played with courage, gusto and determination. Lansdowne team runners-up in the CIFE college challenge 2017

Lansdowne College recently took part in the third CIFE inter-college challenge. 11 teams in total participated making it a tough competition, but this did not deter the Lansdowne team. The team members, Onon, Madalina, Leonid and Liam, correctly answered some particularly tricky questions across a broad range of topics, winning the college third place. Outstanding success in Mathematics Olympiad

The 2016/17 mathematicians at Lansdowne College have achieved outstanding success in this year’s UKMT Intermediate Mathematics Challenge. The challenge is a national competition aimed at pupils in year 11 or below, which involves completing a tricky multiple choice exam. The top 40% of students nationally receive a gold, silver or bronze certificate in the ratio 1:2:3. A-Level student Irina Andronic wins first place in the ISA National Art Competition

Huge congratulations to A-Level student Irina Andronic for winning first place in the Independent Schools Association (ISA) National Art Competition, Film Shorts category. Irina created her winning film, ‘Not Guilty’, for her AS Film Studies coursework. It is an excellent, high quality and truly professional piece of work telling the story of a couple’s revenge. Lansdowne alumnus Simina announced as winner of prestigious CIFE award

  We’re delighted to announce Simina Popescu as this year’s winner of a prestigious CIFE award for academic excellence. The awards ceremony will be taking place early next month at the House of Lords. The Lansdowne College football team have had a great Autumn season. With one game left to play they have secured a very well-deserved third place in the league table. Senior Maths Challenge Success 2016

Students at Lansdowne College once again received another fantastic set of results in this year’s UKMT Senior Maths Challenge. 27 out of the 39 students who entered were awarded certificates, of which 5 were gold, 5 silver and 17 bronze. Over 82,000 pupils from across the UK returned scripts for the Senior Maths Challenge with the top 10% receiving a gold certificate, the next 20% silver and the next 30% bronze.
