Retake Successes
At Lansdowne College courses are tailored to the student’s needs. No two cases are the same and their students often enter different courses for different subjects. This maximises their chances of achieving A grades in all the subjects. There are many success stories:
NH joined Lansdowne after achieving high grades but had failed to secure a position at a Medical School. She had ABB at A Levels and an AB for two extra AS Level subjects, one of which was Biology. Lansdowne recommended she should retake Chemistry (grade B) in January and push Biology AS at B grade to a full A Level by June. She achieved grade A in Chemistry in January of that year and held an unconditional offer to read Medicine at Brighton & Sussex University where she is currently studying.
JFB joined Lansdowne College after achieving grade A in English Literature & Art and a grade B in Religious Studies and already had a place at university to study Architecture. However, he had his heart set on studying Medicine and asked our advice. We placed him in a one-year A level course to study Biology and Chemistry. He completed the course with two grade As and has been studying Medicine at St. George’s University ever since.
DY joined Lansdowne College because she did not think her old school, although good, would provide the high standard of teaching needed to help her achieve the necessary A grades. She was placed in our two-year A level programme. She achieved three A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. DY is studying Medicine at Imperial College. Note: MA has been removed from this one.
LW had underperformed in Chemistry at her previous school and joined Lansdowne in the one term short course and accepted an offer from the Liverpool University to study Veterinary Medicine.
JC had underperformed in Chemistry and joined Lansdowne in a short course to upgrade. He received an unconditional offer from Keele university and a conditional offer from Brighton & Sussex before the results had been published in March.
TH had to re-take Chemistry and Mathematics to upgrade in order to apply for Medicine. He succeeded to secure an interview from every one of his interviews and accepted the offer from Peninsula University.
GM joined Lansdowne College because she did not have AS or A level in Biology but wanted to study Medicine. She had been ill-advised and at Lansdowne, she studied for Biology in a one-year course and received and unconditional offer in the middle of the year from Manchester University for her to study Medicine.
DN joined Lansdowne College having underscored in Biology and Chemistry. He joined the Short course September to January for Biology and the one-year course for Chemistry. He accepted an offer from Kings College to study Dentistry.
