Short Retake A Level
These courses run from either September through to the examinations in January or from January through to the examinations in June. They are intensive and demanding courses requiring a high level of commitment.
Short retake courses would normally cater for those students who have the basic subject knowledge but have suffered from inadequate revision, poor technique or both. As well as covering key areas of the syllabus, emphasis is placed on the development of the examination skills specific to the subject. Students may join these courses for the full A Level or for certain units only.
The Weekly Timetable
- 11 periods per subject.
- Supervised study (if necessary).
- 2 exam practice periods.
- 1 Personal Tutor session.
A change of environment together with small teaching groups, where students are treated as individuals, help to build confidence rapidly.

So, often, a new approach to a subject can help understanding become clearer and consequently the subject become more interesting.
Those students interested in joining the Medic Programme should refer to the separate prospectus available from the College and to further information on our dedicated Medic section which can be found here.
