GCSE Student of the Year - Jamie Metcalfe
Jamie joined the GCSE Department in September 2009 from Forest School to take 8 GCSEs and AS Maths. Jamie is expected to achieve top grades in his examinations this summer. Whilst highly academic, Jamie is also a talented violinist, achieving Grade 8 this year. A popular, all-round student, Jamie is returning to Lansdowne for his A Levels, having been awarded a VI Form Scholarship. Jamie certainly deserved his GCSE Student of the Year 2010 award.
Lower Sixth Student of the Year - Edd Mullins
Joining Lansdowne in 2009, Edd soon proved himself to be a popular member of the College. A leading member of the Student Council, Edd has helped organised the two main charity events during the year, the Summer Ball and captained the student cricket team to victory against the staff this summer. He also managed four AS Levels in Classical Civilisation, Government and Politics, History and Philosophy. Edd’s efforts led him to being awarded the Lower Sixth Student of the Year 2010.
Upper Sixth Student of the Year - Alex Trafford
Since joining Lansdowne in 2008, Alex has managed to combine a successful A Level career with full participation in extracurricular activities. Having joined the Student Council in his Lower Sixth, Alex was appointed Head of the Council in his Upper Sixth and has worked tirelessly in organising a myriad of College events. Alex was awarded Upper Sixth Student of the Year 2010.
Best Academic Performance GCSE - Vinay Patel
Vinay has had an extremely successful GCSE career with us at Lansdowne. Undoubtedly the most able student in his year, Vinay is expected to achieve an excellent set of GCSE results in all his subjects. Vinay has augmenbted his natural academic abilities with a lot of hard work and this has made him an extremely deserving winner of the award for Best Academic Performance by a GCSE student.
Best Academic Performance Sixth Form - Nichola Gordon-Jones
Nichola joined Lansdowne in September 2009 to complete A Levels in Law, Sociology and Psychology in one year. Nichola proved her academic prowess from the start, a standard which she has maintained throughout the year, justifying her well-deserved award for Best Academic Performance by a Sixth Form student. Nichola will be taking up a place to read Law at university in the autumn.
