UCAS
All students intending to apply to university are fully guided through the UCAS application process.
For Lower Sixth students this initially involves consideration of suitable degree courses and institutions with their Personal Tutor. During the Summer Term a day is devoted to university-related workshops where Lower Sixth students learn about the university system as a whole, academic and practical considerations, personal statement writing, and completion of the UCAS application.
During the Autumn term of the Upper Sixth students follow a structured programme during weekly tutorial sessions to ensure UCAS applications are up to date and that students’ Personal Statements are of the highest possible quality. For those students called to interview subject tutors will provide subject specific interview practice and feedback. One year and short-resit students follow the process described above.

At all times students have access to an Higher Education & Careers Advisor. Many of Lansdowne’s tutors are Oxbridge graduates and can provide expert advice on the Oxbridge application process, Colleges’ internal selection examinations, and interview technique. The Director of the Medical Programme has long experience of aiding applications for medically-related degrees, preparing students for BMAT and UKCAT tests and university interviews, and has many useful contacts within universities admissions’ departments.
